7KD071 – Port Cask, Finished in seasoned PX Cask – 48.2% 500ml
14/09/2018 – 04/04/2023 4 years 6 months 22 days entire maturation, finished in PX Cask for 3 months, 29 days
Colour: Vintage Oak in colour.
Nose: Dark mahogany, rich leather and plum sauce open up on the nose initially. Salted caramel and dark stewing berries follow, along with Sultana Garibaldi Biscuits. A touch of dusty sweet walnuts comes through with 1 drop of water.
Palate: The palate hits immediately with dark cacao nibs and raisins & sultanas doused in XO brandy. Rich treacle oozes out, alongside cinnamon & clove spices before circling back towards that dark cacao nib. 1 drop of water offers up a splash of golden syrup sweetness.
Finish: A rich and decadent finish, which returns both the treacle and dusty walnut sweetness. Medium length, making it hard not to pour another dram on a cool Autumn evening.
